Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Mano Soares (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Syusuke Fuji (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Mano Soares has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Mano Soares!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Syusuke Fuji!
The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Luis Engracia and Seu Braga.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fuji slips a straight right by Soares.

Fuji closes the distance and clinches.
Soares tries to pull guard but Fuji won't allow it.
Soares tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Fuji smiles and moves away.
The fighters circling - Soares throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Soares throws a right and a left that Fuji avoids nicely.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!

Fuji shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Soares keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Soares is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Fuji's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Fuji's back!

Soares is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Soares lands with a nice looking elbow that stuns Fuji.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Fuji controlling the position well but he knows he's in a bad position.
Fuji manages to reverse the position and now he's in Soares's guard. Nice work there by Fuji.

Soares escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Fuji gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Soares had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Fuji defends it easily.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Fuji really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Soares. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Fuji is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Soares might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Fuji stands up over Soares, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Soares is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Fuji rolls with it to try and escape but Soares cranks on the arm and Fuji is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:21 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Mano Soares!
Mano Soares was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
