The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Janowicz shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Konopka's guard.
Konopka wants to stand and escape but Janowicz is having none of it.
Janowicz postures up in Konopka's guard and throws a big left but Konopka blocks it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Janowicz stands and throws Konopka's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Janowicz wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Konopka, who protects the arm well.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Janowicz has an Americana. Konopka didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Janowicz is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Janowicz hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
