Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ricky Davis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Icaro Asas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Davis comes into the arena with Snoop DoGG blaring out of the sound system. Both fighter's entrance songs getting the crowd jumping here.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Ricky Davis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Icaro Asas!
The judges for this bout are Jeff Smith, Roger Salmon and Paul Gruel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Asas lunges at Davis with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Davis's hand.


It looks like Ricky Davis has been cut.

Davis fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Asas to the ground. Davis is now in Asas's guard.

Davis is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Davis drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Davis jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Davis is looking for a kimura but Asas is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Davis to get the leverage.

Asas misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Davis.
Davis steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Asas.
Davis looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Asas tries to close the distance and clinch up but Davis swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Asas throws a jab but it's blocked by Davis.
Asas lands with an uppercut that bounces Davis off the cage and back into range.

Davis manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Asas on his heels. He'll look to pass Asas's guard now, I'm sure.

Davis has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Asas defend it? Davis steps over the head and cranks it - Asas is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Davis!

A relieved looking Ricky Davis thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
