Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Quincy Jones!
The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Radbod Blank and Daniel Blasius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Michaels shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Jones as he avoids it easily.
Michaels checks the leg kick.
A left and a right from Michaels both land. Nice combination.


It looks like Quincy Jones has been cut.
Michaels shoots in but Jones avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Michaels moves out of range of the leg kick from Jones.
Jones tries to close the distance and clinch up but Michaels swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Jones wants to clinch up but Michaels keeps it at a distance.
Michaels moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.


Jones is rocked!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Michaels uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Jones.
Michaels connects with a leg kick. Jones looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Jones avoids a kick to the body.

Michaels changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Jones looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Michaels wants to lay and pray for a moment but Jones keeps working.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Jones wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!

Michaels is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Jones looks calm but he's in trouble here. Michaels gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Jones is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Michaels lets go of the hold and Jones can pop his arm back in it's socket.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Josh Michaels!
Josh Michaels bigged himself up after the win. The crowd seemed to love it.
