Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Junior Rivera (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Donnie Darko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rivera comes to the cage accompanied by Push it to the Limit - Rick Ross. Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

With a record of 24 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Junior Rivera!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 20 - 13 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Donnie Darko!
The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Daniel Blasius and Nard Betker.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Darko takes a kick to the side of the head.
Donnie Darko seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Darko throws an overhand right that lands on Rivera's shoulder, as Rivera tries to avoid the shot.
Rivera misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Darko.

Rivera lets loose with a powerful body kick. Darko will feel that in the morning.

Darko shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Rivera manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Darko is looking to advance position but Rivera has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Rivera fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Darko has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Darko takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Darko rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Rivera moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

and Rivera counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Darko is lucky that one didn't land flush.

Darko doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Rivera counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Rivera is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Darko can do to turn this around?

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Darko is defended easily by Rivera.
Junior Rivera has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Donnie Darko.

and Rivera counters with a nice low kick that buckles Darko's knee momentarily.

That kick from Rivera tenderised Darko's leg. Darko is trying to keep his angry face on.
Rivera throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.
Darko takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.

Junior Rivera was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
