The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jenkins misses with a straight right.
Francklin tries to clinch up but Jenkins circles away and keeps his distance.

and Jenkins counters with a nice uppercut.
Francklin walks into a straight right hand from Jenkins.
Jenkins's jab looks to have found its range, popping Francklin under the eye.
Jenkins swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Jenkins could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Jenkins throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Francklin shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Jenkins makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Jenkins.
Jenkins is controlling Francklin's posture.
Francklin trying to control the position from guard on top but Jenkins is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Francklin preventing the sweep.
Francklin is looking to advance position but Jenkins has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!
Jenkins controlling the pace for now.
Francklin tries to hold on but Jenkins pushes him away.
Francklin bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
Francklin wants to pass the guard but Jenkins is keeping the position.

Francklin would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Francklin ducks right into an uppercut from Jenkins.
Francklin on the wrong end of a nice jab.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Francklin gets caught by a big overhand right and goes down! Jenkins gets on top of him and starts throwing some serious punches until the ref intervenes and stops the fight!
