The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Warburton closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Pope to the mat! Pope manages to get full guard.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Pope looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Warburton stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Pope swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Warburton throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Warburton working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Warburton stands over his opponent and dives in with a flying punch! Pope throws up his legs and catches Warburton in a triangle! Oh this looks tight! Warburton tries to escape but he's forced to tap! Wow, fantastic work there by Pope! That came out of nowhere!
