The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thompson connects with a body shot.
Good exchange - Thompson coming out on top.
Thompson thuds his right hand into Roychowdhury's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Roychowdhury takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Thompson lands with a straight right. Roychowdhury didn't see that one coming.
Roychowdhury throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Thompson's waist but Thompson gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Roychowdhury off to one side.
Roychowdhury lands a nice shot that snaps Thompson's head back.
Thompson keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.

Oooooh!!! Thompson has knocked Roychowdhury down with a huge combo! Thompson steps away and waves a wobbly Roychowdhury back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!

It looks like Pramit Roychowdhury has been cut.
Roychowdhury shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Thompson pinned against the cage. Thompson gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Thompson lands a left and a right that send Roychowdhury crashing to the mat, dazed. Thompson thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Thompson cracks Roychowdhury with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Thompson has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Roychowdhury to stand back up!
Roychowdhury is breathing heavily.
Thompson throws a right and a left that both miss.
Thompson misses with a two punch combination.

Thompson sends Roychowdhury crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Thompson is motioning to the referee to let Roychowdhury up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!
Roychowdhury tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Thompson was well out of range. Poor timing from Roychowdhury.
Thompson scores with a jab to the body.
Thompson throws a shot to the body.
Thompson lands with a cross.
Thompson connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.

Thompson drops Roychowdhury with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Roychowdhury looks back up at him and smiles so Thompson waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Oh Roychowdhury is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Thompson wobbles Roychowdhury with a right hand and the left hook that follows puts him on his rear! Thompson dives in with a huge flying punch that connects right on the button and puts Roychowdhury to sleep! - What a violent and spectacular finish!

James Thompson decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
