PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ray Thomas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Stan Marsh (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Stan Marsh!
The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Yukihiro Shimada and Yuuki Gou.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thomas shoots in for a takedown but Marsh shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Thomas slips a straight right by Marsh.
Thomas shoots for a takedown but Marsh saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Marsh dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Thomas takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.

Marsh misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Thomas.
Marsh lands with an overhand left.

It looks like Ray Thomas has been cut.
Thomas tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Marsh swivels and escapes.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ray Thomas. That's going to take a lot out of him.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Thomas.
Thomas shoots in looking for a takedown but Marsh manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Thomas's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Thomas manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Thomas keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Marsh's efforts to push away.
Marsh tries to circle away but Thomas has him pinned against the cage.
Thomas jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Marsh walks away with a smile on his face. Thomas gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Thomas has taken the fight to the clinch.
Thomas is trying to break the clinch but Marsh is controlling him.
Marsh is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Marsh breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Marsh darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Thomas closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Marsh lands a nice hook to Thomas's body. Thomas takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Stan Marsh is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Marsh lands a really nice looking cross but Thomas seems unphased.

Marsh uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Thomas has time to react.

Thomas is rocked!
Thomas is aggressively charging in as Marsh backs up avoiding any damage. Marsh tosses out a jab and Thomas runs right into it face first! Thomas is out cold! Marsh dropped down on all fours and is barking in Thomas's face like a pit bull in celebration until the ref was finally able to pull him away!
