Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Master Blaster (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Steve Hershey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Blaster comes to the cage accompanied by The Number of The Beast - Iron Maiden. Hershey has chosen Aztechnical as his entrance music. This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 21 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Master Blaster!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Steve Hershey!
The judges for this bout are , Don Winkell and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hershey throws a right hand that Blaster ducks under and follows up with a left that Blaster also avoids with ease.
Blaster with a poor takedown
and Hershey counters with a low kick, right behind Blaster 's knee.
Blaster changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Hershey tries to avoid it but Blaster manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Hershey to the ground. Hershey escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Hershey lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Hershey looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Hershey misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Blaster shoots and misses
and Hershey counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Master Blaster. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Hershey throws a nice looking combination but Blaster bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Blaster shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Hershey pinned against the cage. Hershey gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Steve Hershey seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hershey rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Blaster moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Hershey misses with the combination.

and Blaster counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Blaster working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Hershey has momentary wrist control but Blaster slips an elbow through the middle.
Blaster landing some decent shots from guard.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Blaster's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Blaster has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Hershey tries to bum rush Blaster with a series of wild strikes but Blaster uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Hershey leaves Blaster with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
A combination from Hershey does no damage.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Blaster dives in and grabs Hershey's left leg, looking for a takedown. Hershey pushes down on Blaster's head and hops out.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Master Blaster dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Hershey is looking to chop away at Blaster's legs.
Master Blaster is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Hershey throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and Blaster counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Blaster wants to lay and pray for a moment but Hershey keeps working.
Blaster slips a nice elbow through Hershey's hands, connecting with Hershey's forehead.
Hershey keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Blaster looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Hershey with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Hershey is looking to improve his position.
Blaster is looking to take a break and control but Hershey is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Blaster is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
This has been an exciting period of action!
