Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Hunter Akbar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chika Haruka (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Chika Haruka was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Chika Haruka!
The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Sosuke Kotani and Yuuki Gou.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No joy there for Akbar, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Haruka avoids a low kick by using good footwork.

Haruka gets caught flat footed, as Akbar shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Haruka keeping moving, preventing Akbar from controlling successfully.

Akbar is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Haruka is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

We're going to have a standup here because Hunter Akbar wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

Akbar moves into range and clinches up with Haruka.

Haruka pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Chika Haruka seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Haruka clinches up with Akbar and pushes him back against the ropes.

Haruka looks to score with a jab to the body but Akbar is just out of range.

Akbar turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
Akbar will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Haruka works his way to full guard. Good work.
Akbar stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Haruka swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Haruka is not content to let Akbar control the position.
Haruka manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.

Akbar looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Haruka is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Akbar's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Akbar's back!

Akbar is in bad spot here.
Haruka really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Akbar. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Akbar thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Haruka keeps the fight on the outside.

Akbar has taken the fight to the clinch.
Haruka has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.

Akbar pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Akbar just misses with a punch to the body.
Akbar moves in looking to clinch but Haruka pushes him off.

Haruka rushes Akbar and pushes him back against the ropes in a clinch.

Akbar wants the takedown. Haruka is fighting it off but Akbar persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Haruka's guard against the ropes.
Akbar passes Haruka's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Akbar wants to free his trapped foot but Haruka is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Akbar winds up and cracks Haruka with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Akbar thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Haruka's head.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Haruka is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Akbar slips a nice elbow through Haruka's hands, connecting with Haruka's forehead.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Haruka can do anything to dispel that myth.

Akbar is looking to take a break and control but Haruka is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Akbar has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Akbar has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Haruka is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Akbar yanks on the arm and Haruka is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Akbar.

A relieved looking Hunter Akbar thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
