The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vanguard dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Quitoriano shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Vanguard counters with a nice leg kick.
Quitoriano uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Vanguard.
A left lands for Vanguard.

It looks like Vincent Quitoriano has been cut.
Quitoriano tries for a takedown but Vanguard sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

and Vanguard counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.

Vanguard lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Quitoriano backs up against the ropes.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Vanguard tries to clinch but Quitoriano is having none of it.
Quitoriano takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

Quitoriano scores a takedown into full mount!

Quitoriano goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Vanguard is on top in guard.

Quitoriano is looking for a triangle but Vanguard pushes his legs off easily.

Quitoriano escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Vanguard gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Quitoriano is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Vanguard defends well.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Quitoriano pushes a forearm under Vanguard's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Vanguard is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
