PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Bb Esko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alistair Ubereem (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ubereem has chosen CRO-MAGS - We Gotta Know as his entrance music. Bb Esko could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Alistair Ubereem's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Bb Esko!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Alistair Ubereem!
The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Saam Ante and Wagner Zegers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Esko pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Esko does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Esko tests Ubereem's chin there with a solid looking shot.


It looks like Alistair Ubereem has been cut.
Ubereem tries to close the distance and clinch but Esko swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
The fight stays on the outside here - Ubereem looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Ubereem sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
A head kick by Esko misses
and Ubereem counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Esko dodges the punch combination from Ubereem.
Esko avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Esko takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
A head kick misses from Esko.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Ubereem avoids the head kick by Esko.
Esko looks for the body kick but Ubereem saw that one coming.
Esko misses with a head kick.
Esko tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Esko throws a sloppy head kick and Ubereem moves out of range easily.
Ubereem avoids the head kick by Esko.
Esko misses with a straight left.
Esko throws a leg kick but Ubereem checks it.
Esko throws a head kick but Ubereem moves out of range.

Ubereem moves into the clinch.
Ubereem is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Esko gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Esko wants to break free but Ubereem has control.
Ubereem lands with a light punch inside.
Esko is trying to force a seperation but Ubereem has the dominant position.

Ubereem manages to pull guard.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Esko stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Ubereem connects with a looping right hand.

Ubereem closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Ubereem has Esko pressed against the cage, preventing Esko from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Ubereem lands on the inside with an uppercut.
Ubereem is looking for a takedown.
With the two fighters working up against the cage, Ubereem just misses with a elbow thrown towards Esko's brow.
Ubereem throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Esko blocks it with crossed arms.

Ubereem pulls guard successfully.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Ubereem is on top in guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Esko wants to get back to his feet but Ubereem is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Ubereem stands up from Esko's guard - Ubereem perhaps looking for a knockout.
Esko throws a head kick but Ubereem moves out of range.
Esko tries a head kick but it misses.
Ubereem has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Ubereem there as he acknowledges the shot.
Esko throws a jab when Ubereem was well out of range.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Esko tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Esko throws a lazy head kick
and Ubereem makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Esko really felt that one!

Ubereem lands a jab to the nose.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
A low kick from Esko is predictable there
and Ubereem counters with a head kick that wobbles Esko - left then right he sways and one more bomb from Ubereem sends him down. This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:35 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Alistair Ubereem!
Our winner, Alistair Ubereem, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
