PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Taavi Liisteri (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marty Mc Fly (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Liisteri comes into the arena with Solid Base - I like it blaring out of the sound system. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Liisteri shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Mc Fly sprawls well. Mc Fly wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Liisteri gets slowly back to his feet.
Mc Fly shoots for a double leg takedown but Liisteri sprawls well. He's pushed Mc Fly's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Mc Fly shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Liisteri napping and manages to drive through into side control!
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Mc Fly is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Liisteri to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Liisteri shrugs it off.

Liisteri uses his free foot to push down on Mc Fly's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Mc Fly.

Liisteri throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Mc Fly's waist but Mc Fly gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Liisteri off to one side.

Mc Fly feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Mc Fly is sitting in close to Liisteri's body. Liisteri has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Mc Fly is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Mc Fly is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Liisteri.
