Johnson has chosen Bone Crusher- Never Scared as his entrance music. Floyd Johnson will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Rayce Gracie!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Floyd Johnson!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Yves DeLean and Robert Douchet.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gracie avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
A combination from Gracie does no damage.
Johnson feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Gracies jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

Johnson shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Gracie is trying to defend but Johnson finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Gracie looking to force a kimura from the bottom here. He's concentrating on that move too much though and Johnson pushes past his half guard into mount!
Gracie really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Gracie is working hard here to advance position.

Johnson controlling the position easily from mount.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Gracie working to try and regain half guard.
Johnson sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Gracie is looking to improve his position but Johnson isn't that keen on the idea.

Gracie keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Johnson takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Gracie is desperately trying to improve his position but Johnson has a good base and remains in mount.

Gracie manages to regain half guard. Good work.
Gracie wants to control but Johnson is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Floyd Johnson has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.

Johnson looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

Gracie looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Johnson wants to get back to his feet.

Gracie might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Gracie is pressing down on Johnson's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Johnson ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Floyd Johnson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Gracie misses with a wild combination.
Rayce Gracie is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Gracie keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Johnson connects with a looping right hand.
Johnson scores with a jab to the body.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Gracie gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Johnson to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Johnson stands up and waves to Gracie to follow him.
Gracie gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Johnson counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Gracie!
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Gracie is trying to escape the mount.

Gracie tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Johnson sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.

Gracie tries to roll over but Johnson keeps him under control.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Floyd Johnson hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Gracie shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Gracie showed some decent athleticism there.

Johnson is defending against the submission attempts here by Gracie.

Johnson tries to kick Gracie off but Gracie keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Gracie trying to control from half guard but Johnson is working away.
Floyd Johnson has got the better of the ground game so far.
Johnson has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Gracie is working away from the top position though.
Johnson controlling the leg, holding on to half guard.

Gracie passes the guard and advances to mount!
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Johnson can do anything to dispel that myth.
Johnson tries to hold on but Gracie pushes him away.
Johnson bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

Gracie looking for a triangle here. Johnson is fighting it but it looks tight! Gracie pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, Johnson is tapping out - this one is all over!
