Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dave Doom (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nick Hanrahan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hanrahan has chosen Amon Amarth - Death in Fire as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Nick Hanrahan!
The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, John Mangel and Hugh Johnson.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hanrahan will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Hanrahan clinches up against the cage.
Hanrahan tries to pull guard but Doom forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Doom scores with an uppercut up the middle.

It looks like Nick Hanrahan has been cut.

Doom manages to break the clinch.
Doom scoring well with a low kick there.
Doom misses with a body shot.
Hanrahan missing with a left hand there. Doom was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.

Hanrahan has managed to clinch.
Hanrahan tries to pull guard but Doom holds him up against the cage and eventually Hanrahan drops back down to his feet.
Doom digs a right hand into Hanrahan's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Hanrahan's gas tank.

Doom works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

Hanrahan has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Doom can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Doom not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Doom passes Hanrahan's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Doom trying to mount his opponent but Hanrahan defends it.
Doom perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Hanrahan wants to improve his position but Doom is controlling well.

Doom thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Hanrahan's head.

Doom is working for a kimura but Hanrahan is defending it quite comfortably.

Doom is working for a submission of some sort.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Doom prevents Hanrahan from improving his position.
Doom wants to take a breather but Hanrahan is having none of it.

Hanrahan is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Doom pulls his head out easily.

Doom content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Doom wants to free his trapped foot but Hanrahan is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Doom is looking to take a break and control but Hanrahan is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Dave Doom.
Hanrahan throws a left and a right that both miss
and Doom counters with a leg kick.
Hanrahan keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Doom lands with an overhand left.
Hanrahan waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Doom.
Doom ducks under a wild hook from Hanrahan.
Doom fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Hanrahan looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Hanrahan throws a wild body kick that Doom sees coming a mile off.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
A combination from Hanrahan does no damage.

A left and a right from Doom both land. Nice combination.
Hanrahan falls off balance throwing a combination
and Doom counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.
Doom keeps Hanrahan at a distance using the push kick.
Hanrahan throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Doom closes the distance and clinches.
Doom is trying to wear down his opponent with knees to the body.
Doom lands an elbow that stopped Hanrahan in his tracks for a moment.

Doom jumps guard and drags Hanrahan to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Hanrahan avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Doom is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Doom lands with a jab that stuns his opponent. Hanrahan is looking to close the distance but Doom sees it coming and throws a beautiful knee! Hanrahan crumbles to the mat and that's all she wrote! Let's hope Hanrahan is OK because that was naaaaaasty!
