Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Kiichi Miyazawa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Harper Pool (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Kiichi Miyazawa!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 8 - 0, fighting out of New York, Harper Pool!
The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Lou da Vinci and Jonathan Paton.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Pool drives through and clinches with Miyazawa against the cage.
A short left from Pool.
Pool wants to get back to striking at distance but Miyazawa won't allow it.
Pool working aggressively here.
Pool working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely.
Pool lands with a right to the head.
Pool lands a hook that snaps the head of Miyazawa backwards.
Pool swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Miyazawa drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Pool gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Pool is working for takedown but Miyazawa is calmly controlling the position for now.

Pool wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Miyazawa has him pressed against the cage.
Pool is pressed up against the cage. Miyazawa has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Pool down to the mat. Pool avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Pool looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Miyazawa avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Pool throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Miyazawa.

Harper Pool seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

so Miyazawa counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Pool is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.

Miyazawa drops back looking for a leg! Pool is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Pool manages to kick Miyazawa off! Miyazawa jumps back into Pool's guard.

Pool is looking to escape.
Miyazawa drops an elbow to the side of Pool's head.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Miyazawa connects with a nice short shot to Pool's temple.
Miyazawa thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Pool is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Miyazawa scores with a couple of nice shots.
Pool is looking to escape.
Miyazawa is trying to control. Pool wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Miyazawa is looking for a kimura here.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Pool is trying to stand.
Pool keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Pool is looking to escape.

Miyazawa looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Still in half guard, Miyazawa seems content to control.
Pool is not content to let Miyazawa control the position.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Miyazawa lands a nice short elbow.
Miyazawa is nestled in close to Pool, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Pool is trying to stand.
Miyazawa thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Pool's head.
Miyazawa is keen to just control but Pool is a slippery customer.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Pool is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Pool tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Miyazawa paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Pool has managed to clinch.
Miyazawa wants a takedown but no success here.

Miyazawa turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!

Pool is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Miyazawa has just dragged him back down to the mat.

Pool explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there!

Pool tries to close the distance and clinch but Miyazawa swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

A right-left combo lands from Pool.
Pool wants to clinch

and Miyazawa counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Pool pushes Miyazawa off looking to stand but Miyazawa dives back in and keeps control.

Pool wants to get back to his feet.
Kiichi Miyazawa overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Miyazawa is trying to control the action in half guard but Pool is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Pool really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Miyazawa. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

Miyazawa is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Pool's shoulder. That is not cool.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Pool's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.

Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Miyazawa is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Pool can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

You get the feeling that Pool really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Pool takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Miyazawa cracks Pool with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Pool is bucking up trying to escape but Miyazawa cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

Pool is rocked!

Miyazawa is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Pool can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Pool is in a horrible position here. Miyazawa smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Pool is still in real trouble! Can Miyazawa finish him?

Miyazawa lands a big shot there that rocks Pool but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Miyazawa unloads with some vicious shots from mount and Pool wants out - he looks towards the referee who steps in to save him! Miyazawa celebrates on the cage and the crowd goes wild!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:26 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Kiichi Miyazawa!
