The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mejias with a poor takedown
and Stackhouse counters with a slapping leg kick.
Mejias has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.

It looks like Cigano Mejias has been cut.
Some wild striking there from Stackhouse.

Stackhouse takes the fight into the clinch.
Mejias is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Stackhouse pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Stackhouse stops a takedown attempt from Mejias.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Cigano Mejias. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Stackhouse has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Mejias clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Mejias is defending well here and trying to improve his position.
Mejias really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Mejias is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Stackhouse defends it well.

Mejias is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Stackhouse doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Mejias.

Stackhouse makes his way to full guard, as Mejias worked for a kimura.

Mejias drops back, looking for a kneebar! Stackhouse looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Stackhouse looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Stackhouse!
Mejias on the wrong end of some ground and pound.

Stackhouse is staying tight to Mejias's torso, preventing him from escaping.
Stackhouse cracks Mejias with a big right hand but Mejias just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Stackhouse cracks Mejias with a big elbow.
Mejias is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Stackhouse off and has taken his back!

Mejias is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Stackhouse is defending well though. Mejias let's go of the attempt for now.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Stackhouse won't enjoy being in this position. Mejias looking for the choke. Oh... he's slipped the arm under the neck - Stackhouse is tapping - it's over boys! Mejias picks up the submission victory!
