Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Joe Jlo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Niaz Femd (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Russell Pearce and Columbo Gatti.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Horrible takedown by Jlo or perhaps it was just good defense by Femd which made him look bad.
Femd shoots in for a takedown but Jlo shows good takedown defense.
Jlo looks to land a combination but Femd avoids it well.
Sloppy strikes from Jlo. Those never looked like landing.
Femd stuffs the takedown.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Femd.
Jlo shoots for a double leg takedown but Femd sprawls well. He's pushed Jlo's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Joe Jlo. That's going to take a lot out of him.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Jlo goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Femd walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Jlo throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

and Femd holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Femd has Jlo pressed against the cage, preventing Jlo from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Femd is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Jlo wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Femd is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.
Femd gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Jlo.

Jlo looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Femd has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Jlo is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Jlo tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Femd breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Femd keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Jlo lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Femd circles away quickly and effectively.
Jlo shoots for a double leg takedown but Femd sprawls well. He's pushed Jlo's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Femd lands with a kick to the ribs.
Jlo gets tackled into the cage by Femd. Femd maintains the clinch.
Femd successfully pulls guard.
Femd looks gassed!
Jlo has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Femd is proving hard to escape from.
Femd looking to hit a scissor sweep but Jlo is one step ahead there.

Jlo would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Jlo is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Jlo passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Femd wants to control but Jlo postures up.
Jlo has knee on belly and moves into mount.
Jlo working for a submission but Femd is keeping him at bay.
Jlo wants to get back to his feet but Femd is holding on tight.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Jlo stands up from mount. Strange move.
Femd gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Jlo.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Jlo scores with a hook.
Joe Jlo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Jlo takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Femd displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Jlo.
Jlo swats away the attempt to clinch by Femd.
Jlo shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Femd but Femd pushes him off and we're back to square one.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Jlo looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Femd is fending him off so far but Jlo persists. Nope, Femd circles away and we're back to standing.
Femd shoots for a takedown but Jlo saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Jlo fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Joe Jlo dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Femd shoots in looking for a takedown. Jlo tries to sprawl out of it but Femd keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Jlo manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Jlo drops back looking for a leg! Femd is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Femd manages to kick Jlo off! Jlo jumps back into Femd's guard.
Jlo wants to stand but Femd is controlling his posture from full guard.

Jlo drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Jlo jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
