Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Mick Gerrard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nikademus Sinclair (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sinclair keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Sinclair ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Sinclair fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Sinclair swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Sinclair slips a jab from Gerrard.
Gerrard throws a big shot that misses.
Gerrard clinches up against the ropes.
Gerrard lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Gerrard throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Sinclairs head.
Still in the clinch, Gerrard scores with a nice short uppercut.
Gerrard lands with a light punch inside.
Gerrard misses with the head strike.

Sinclair can't find room to land a body shot as Gerrard controls the action.

Sinclair wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Gerrard has him pressed against the ropes.
Sinclair's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Sinclair closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.

Gerrard looks to land a left hand but Sinclair moved out of range nicely.

Gerrard throws a hook but Sinclair avoids it easily.

Gerrard keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Sinclair's efforts to push away.

Gerrard throws a punch but it's blocked by Sinclair.
Gerrard lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Sinclair backwards.

Gerrard pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Gerrard thuds his right hand into Sinclair's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.

Sinclair moves away from the strike by Gerrard.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
I'm just looking down at my notes here and I see that.... oh! Gerrard has cracked Sinclair with a big right, followed by a left! He's out on his feet! Gerrard lands another huge swinging hook and Sinclair tumbles to the canvas! The ref dives in to save Sinclair, before Gerrard can land any more shots!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:35 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Mick Gerrard!

Mick Gerrard decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
