Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Mattias Markstrom (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Stephen McGarry (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). McGarry has chosen Hugh Laurie - You Don't Know My Mind as his entrance music. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Stephen McGarry!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

McGarry drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Markstrom wants to get back to his feet.
McGarry just content to control the position.
Markstrom lands a little strike from the bottom.
Markstrom can't do much from the bottom here.
Markstrom gets back to half guard.

Markstrom looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Markstrom manages to get to full guard.
McGarry really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Markstrom. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Markstrom is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. McGarry is aware though and is defending well.
McGarry wants to pass the guard but Markstrom is keeping the position.
Markstrom is trying to keep McGarry in close.
Markstrom bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in McGarry's guard.
McGarry pulls Markstrom in close to prevent any damage.

Markstrom drops back looking for a leg! McGarry is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and McGarry manages to kick Markstrom off! Markstrom jumps back into McGarry's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

McGarry wriggles free and stands up.
The fight stays on the outside here - Markstrom looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

and McGarry counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Markstrom!

Markstrom tries to lock up and control but McGarry gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
McGarry lands with some strikes.

Markstrom is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Markstrom is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

That's time! Markstrom's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Markstrom has hold of a guillotine but he's not going to be able to crank on it really with only half guard, so it's no trouble for McGarry. Oh but Markstrom has got full guard now! Oh boy! This one could be over very soon! McGarry goes limp - he's gone! Markstrom jumps up and celebrates with the crowd - fantastic submission finish!
