The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva is trying hard to land a takedown here. Pontes sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Pontes takes a swing at Silva's ribcage but misses.
Silva on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Pontes ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Silva closes the distance but Pontes moves to the side
and Pontes makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Pontes punishes Silva's body with a nice straight punch.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Pontes is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Silva.
Pontes looks to score with a jab to the body but Silva is just out of range.
Silva misses with a takedown attempt
enabling Pontes to counter with a crisp jab.

Pontes feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Silva sprawling to the canvas! Silva rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Pontes finish him?!

Silva is rocked!

Pontes has Silva pushed against the cage.
Pontes has a couple of punches blocked by Silva.
Pontes misses with some punches.

Pontes swings wildly with an uppercut but Silva uses good head movement to avoid it.
Silva has had enough of the clinch but Pontes keeps him there for the moment.
