Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Rickson Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ederson Alves (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Alves has chosen DMX - The Rain as his entrance music. Rickson Silva has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Seu Braga and Edson Gomes.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alves throws a series of punches but Silva moves out of range.
Alves moves to clinch but Silva breaks away

and Silva counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Alves's guard now.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Alves wants to stand and escape but Silva is having none of it.
Alves is trying to keep Silva in close.
Alves wants to sweep here but Silva controlling him for the moment.

Silva has gone for a leg lock! Alves slips out almost immediately though and dives into Silva's guard.

Silva looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Silva had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Alves defends it easily.

Silva is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Silva is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Alves is just riding it out for now. Silva eventually gives up the hold.

Alves has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Silva is working away from the top position though.

Silva is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Alves sees it coming and defends easily.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Alves has hold of Silva's hands but Silva slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Silva fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

A solid leg kick lands there for Alves.
Alves tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Silva paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Silva fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Alves to the ground. Silva is now in Alves's guard.
Rickson Silva overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Silva throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Alves works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Silva postures up in Alves's guard and throws a big left but Alves blocks it.

Alves throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Silva sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Alves's guard.

Silva is looking for a kimura here.
Alves moves into full guard.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Alves is on top in guard.

Silva has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Alves can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Alves is pushing down on Silva's leg trying to pass to half guard. Silva is fighting to maintain full guard but Alves has managed to sneak the leg through.

Silva bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Alves's guard.

That was a close second round but I would say that Rickson Silva will probably get the nod.

I really don't envy Alves right now.

Alves throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Silva escapes and throws Alves's legs to the side, diving into side control!

Rickson Silva showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Silva, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Rickson Silva really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that RMC - $ 11 Shorts! logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.
