Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Tari Cunha!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Glenn Wauler!
The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, David Schapiro and John Roberts.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wauler misses with a body shot.
Wauler misses with a hook
and Cunha counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Wauler wants to improve his position but Cunha is controlling well.
Cunha drops an elbow to the side of Wauler's head.
Wauler wants to get back to his feet.
Cunha thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Wauler's head.
Cunha thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Wauler tries to kick Cunha off but Cunha keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Cunha throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Cunha moves nicely into side control.
Wauler really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Cunha. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Cunha is working Wauler over with some ground and pound from side control.
Cunha scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Wauler to see if he's OK.

Cunha is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Wauler is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Cunha misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Cunha working the ground and pound but Wauler is defending the strikes.
Cunha has hold of Wauler's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Wauler tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Cunha cranks the arm and Wauler screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Wauler, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:32 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Tari Cunha!

After winning the bout, Tari Cunha thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
