Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Randy Cote (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frankie Figgs (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Randy Cote!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Frankie Figgs!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Cecil Peabody and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cote tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Figgs swivels and escapes.

Figgs closes the distance and clinches.

Figgs breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Figgs throws a one two combo.

Figgs closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Figgs manages to break the clinch.

Figgs clinches.
Cote tries to pull guard but Figgs holds him up against the cage and eventually Cote drops back down to his feet.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Figgs breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Figgs gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Figgs pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
A nice leg kick lands there from Figgs.
Figgs throws a sloppy head kick and Cote moves out of range easily.
Cote circles away from the clinch attempt.

Figgs forces Cote back against the cage and clinches.

Figgs manages to break the clinch.
Frankie Figgs seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Figgs lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Cote circles away quickly and effectively.
Figgs blocks a head kick by Cote.
A nice combination there by Figgs.
Figgs tries to clinch but Cote is having none of it.
Figgs paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Figgs throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Cote.
Figgs misses with a jab, cross combination.

Figgs darts in and clinches Cote up against the cage.
Figgs with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head.
Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Figgs obliges.
Figgs prevents a takedown attempt there.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Randy Cote. That's going to take a lot out of him.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Nice elbow from Figgs.
Cote tries to pull guard but Figgs forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Cote wants to stall.

Cote takes an elbow to the forehead.
Cote creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.

Figgs manages to break the clinch.
A head kick misses from Figgs.

Figgs clinches.

Figgs escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Figgs connects with a single shot there.
Figgs tries to bum rush Cote with a series of wild strikes but Cote uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Figgs darts in and clinches Cote up against the cage.

Figgs pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Figgs throws a series of strikes that have Cote backpedaling.

Figgs gets a clinch.
Cote is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Figgs to keep the fight standing.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Figgs manages to break the clinch.
Cote looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Figgs forces Cote back against the cage and clinches.

Figgs's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Figgs tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Cote paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Cote closes this distance looking for a takedown but Figgs circles away.
Frankie Figgs is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Figgs clinches with his opponent.

Figgs breaks from the clinch.
Figgs throws a right and a left that both miss.

Figgs moves into range and clinches up with Cote.

Figgs breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Figgs tries to clinch up but Cote circles away and keeps his distance.
Figgs wants to clinch up but Cote keeps it at a distance.
Figgs lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Figgs.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Figgs is pawing at Cote, trying to feel the distance before throwing out a cross that crashes into Cote's nose. Cote is badly hurt! Figgs pounces, throwing wild strikes as both fighters end up on the ground! Cote tries desperately to hold on but Figgs is relentless in his assault! As Cote receives an ever increasing number of unanswered strikes the referee pulls Figgs away and this one is in the books!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:06 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Frankie Figgs!
