PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Methuselah Couture (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dante Fertit (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Couture kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is wait, nvmnd! thats just the tapping of his cane as he walks.. Fertit has chosen Roots Bloody Roots as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Fertit clinches up against the cage.
Couture lands a hook that snaps the head of Fertit backwards.
Fertit misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Fertit is trying to stall.
Couture struggles to land a body shot inside as Fertit controls his hands.
Couture tries a body shot but Fertit blocks it.

Couture jumps guard.
Fertit stands and throws Couture's legs to the side, diving into side control.
The ground and pound from Fertit seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.

Fertit stands up and we're back to a striking position.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Fertit drives through and clinches with Couture against the cage.

Fertit seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Couture does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Couture is doing well to control the position and prevent Fertit from advancing to side control.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Couture lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Fertit or not.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Couture creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Couture is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Fertit knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Fertit seems a little lost for a moment, as Couture dominates the positioning.

Couture is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Fertit is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Couture remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!
