Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Mikhail Tal (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tyler Hawk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Mikhail Tal!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Tyler Hawk!
The judges for this bout are Aleksei Zolotukhin, Illya Tyunina and Sergei Dronov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tal thows a body shot but no joy.
Hawk walks into a straight right hand from Tal.
Tal tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Hawk was well out of range. Poor timing from Tal.

Hawk gets a clinch.

Hawk breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Tal throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Hawk slips under a jab.
Tal tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Tal misses with a looping right.
Tal scores with a nice strike.

Hawk manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Tal on his heels. He'll look to pass Tal's guard now, I'm sure.
Hawk trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

Hawk drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Hawk jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Tal managing to control the position.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Hawk postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Tal utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Hawk is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Tal is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Tal has escaped and now he's on top!
Hawk keeping moving, preventing Tal from controlling successfully.

Hawk had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Tal defends it easily.
Tal is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Tal trying to control the position from guard on top but Hawk is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Tal forces his way into half guard.
Hawk tries to get to full guard but Tal has control of the leg.
Tal is looking to take a break and control but Hawk is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Tal takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Hawk looks gassed!

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Mikhail Tal.
Tal pushing out the jab but it's not landing.

Hawk drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Tal struggling a bit here.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Hawk wants to control but Tal is keeping him busy.
You can see the frustration on Tal's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Tal is looking for a sweep.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mikhail Tal dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


The fighters circle momentarily. Tal darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Tal fails in his attempt to clinch.
Tal misses with a looping right.
Tal throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Hawk gets the takedown into side control.
Tal gets back to half guard.

Tal looking for submissions off his back.
Hawk takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Hawk throws a strike but Tal avoids it easily and moves to full guard.

Tal is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Hawk frees his head nicely. Oh but Tal has switched to an armbar! Hawk is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:59 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Armbar). Mikhail Tal!
