The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Lin shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Santos pushes Lin off looking to stand but Lin dives back in and keeps control.
Santos tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.

Lin looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Santos with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Lin lands a nice short elbow.
Santos manages to get to full guard.
Lin really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Santos. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Santos escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Lin gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Lin tries to free his leg and advance position but Santos is retaining full guard.
Lin is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Lin got a little sloppy there for a moment and Santos has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Lin has managed to get both his arms back between Santos's legs - danger averted.
Lin must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Lin is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Lin is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Roger Lin was stalling too much, according to the referee.
