Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Nadi Tsunami (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ryan Apostle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nadi Tsunami has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Nadi Tsunami!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ryan Apostle!
The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Chad Campbell and Columbo Gatti.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Apostle fails to land the takedown.
Tsunami fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Tsunami misses with a kick to the body.
Apostle misses with a two punch combination.

Tsunami drives through with a takedown into Apostle's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Tsunami loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Tsunami controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Apostle working for a triangle but Tsunami defends it easily.
Apostle working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Tsunami.
Apostle really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Tsunami. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Tsunami stands and steps away. Apostle gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Tsunami closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Tsunami working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
Apostle is trying to control Tsunami's posture but Tsunami avoids it.
Apostle trying to remain calm as Tsunami controls from the top position.

Tsunami stands up and we're back to a striking position.

Tsunami shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Apostle is trying to defend but Tsunami finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Tsunami content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Tsunami stands up out of the half guard.

Tsunami instigates a clinch.
Tsunami is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Apostle is defending well for now.
Tsunami stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.
Apostle tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Tsunami breaks from the clinch.
Apostle tries to score a power double leg takedown but Tsunami sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Apostle somewhat.
Nadi Tsunami has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ryan Apostle.

Tsunami shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Apostle looks gassed!

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Tsunami takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Apostle tries to control Tsunami's body but Tsunami pushes him off. Apostle squirms to his side and now Tsunami has his back!
Tsunami is controlling his opponent, waiting for an opportunity to finish.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Tsunami working from the back looking to end the fight with a rear naked choke. Apostle is doing well to defend. Tsunami seems to have got his hand under the chin though and he's sunk the choke in! Apostle is forced to tap and this one is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:25 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Nadi Tsunami!
