Azevedo kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is I'm a Soldier, I'm a Fighter. With a record of 24 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kurokawa Kenji!
The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Micheangelo Fripello and Roger Salmon.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Azevedo fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Kenji throws an overhand right that lands on Azevedo's shoulder, as Azevedo tries to avoid the shot.

Azevedo tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Azevedo fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Azevedo throws a body punch but Kenji moves out of range.
Azevedo takes a swing at Kenji's ribcage but misses.
Kenji avoids the body shot from Azevedo.
Kenji will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Azevedo tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Kenji throws a punch but it's blocked by Azevedo.
Kenji lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Kenji swings wildly with an uppercut but Azevedo uses good head movement to avoid it.

Kenji throws a punch but it's blocked by Azevedo.

Kenji throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Azevedo blocks it with crossed arms.

A short right hand to the side of the head by Kenji.

Azevedo jumps into guard, dragging Kenji to the mat.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Azevedo is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Kenji is aware though and is defending well.

Azevedo is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Kenji frees his head nicely. Oh but Azevedo has switched to an armbar! Kenji is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
