Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Darth Penguin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Anton LaVey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). LaVey is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: There Will Be Violence. Man, I cannot wait for this one!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
LaVey shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Penguin as he jumps to the side.
Penguin scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!

It looks like Anton LaVey has been cut.

Penguin fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging LaVey to the ground. Penguin is now in LaVey's guard.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

LaVey is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

LaVey is not content to let Penguin control the position.

LaVey has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Penguin is working away from the top position though.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
LaVey throws a sloppy head kick
and Penguin counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Penguin tries to clinch up but LaVey circles away and keeps his distance.

LaVey fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Penguin checks it well.

Penguin closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming LaVey to the mat! LaVey manages to get full guard.

We're going to have a standup here because Darth Penguin wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Penguin gets to his feet - LaVey follows without any prompting.

LaVey drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Penguin manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now LaVey has Penguin in his guard.

Well, if Penguin is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

That's time! Penguin's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

LaVey tries to bum rush Penguin with a series of wild strikes but Penguin uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

LaVey unloads a knee to the mid-section.
LaVey wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
LaVey is trying to push Penguin away but Penguin has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
LaVey stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.
Penguin jumps guard but LaVey stands there with Penguin around his waist. Penguin gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

LaVey postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Penguin is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of LaVey, into his guard.

Penguin wants to work for an arm triangle but LaVey is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

LaVey working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Penguin doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Penguin manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

LaVey clobbers Penguin with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.

LaVey will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Darth Penguin.
