Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Phil Davis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Randy Savage (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Phil Davis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 20 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Randy Savage!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Daniel Franklin and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A punch lands to the side of Davis 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Savage misses the shot to the body.
Davis looks to land a right hand but Savage moved out of range.
Savage turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Davis scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Savage on the wrong end of a nice jab.
Savage tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Davis manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Savage tries to clinch but Davis is having none of it.

Davis closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Davis lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Davis is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Savage is trying to control but can't.
Savage avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Davis.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Davis is looking to advance position but Savage won't allow it.
Savage moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Savage tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Savage is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Savage holds on and takes a little breather.
Let's hope that Savage has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Randy Savage has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
A jab from Savage finds it's way through Davis's defenses.

Davis sizes up Savage with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.

Davis throws a head kick but Savage moves out of range.
Davis misses with a hook. Savage ducked under it nicely.

Some bone on bone action there as Davis checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.

Davis takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

Savage lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Savage connects with a right hand. Davis shakes it off.
Davis loads up on a big right hand but Savage slips the punch.
Davis bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Savage's head.
An inside leg kick lands from Davis.
Davis uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Davis moves forwards but Savage connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Randy Savage is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Savage misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Davis counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Davis dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
This has been an exciting period of action!
A clash of legs there as Savage blocks the low kick.
Savage lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Davis moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Savage bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Davis's head.
Savage scores with a jab.
Savage sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Davis connects with an inside leg kick.
Savage cracks Davis with a good jab.
Davis swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Davis scores with a kick to the body.
Davis checks a leg kick.
Savage fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Davis looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Davis gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Randy Savage seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Davis rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Savage moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Savage thuds a left hand into Davis's body.
Savage moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Savage throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Savage pushing out the jab but it's not landing.

Savage closes the distance and pushes Davis back into the cage.

Davis has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Savage clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
Davis trying desperately to keep hold of the dominant position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Randy Savage will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Savage takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Savage ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Davis uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Savage.
Davis keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Savage pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Savage moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
Savage just misses with a punch to the body.
Savage ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Davis tests Savage's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Savage displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Davis throws out the jab.
Davis shoots in looking for a takedown. Savage tries to sprawl out of it but Davis keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Savage manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Savage swings and misses with a hook to the body.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Davis blocks a head kick by Savage.
A big right from Savage misses.
Savage lands a leg kick that knocks Davis off balance momentarily.
Savage goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Davis shoots for a double leg takedown but Savage sprawls well. He's pushed Davis's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Savage misses with a head kick.
Savage throws a jab but it's blocked by Davis.
Davis keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Davis checks the leg kick.
Davis lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.


Savage is rocked!
Davis scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Savage is still on wobbly legs! Can Davis finish him?
Savage is breathing heavily.

A shot to the liver by Davis. Beautiful body shot.
Savage walks into a picture perfect straight right hand from Davis! He's gone down face first to the canvas, unconscious before he even hit the floor! Ohhhh. My. Goodness! That boys and girls was a beautiful knockout! Give that man a biscuit!
