Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Abdoul Murquite!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Kevin Nash!
The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Hugh Johnson and John Mangel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Murquite wants to clinch.
Nash goes for a high kick. It partially lands.


It looks like Abdoul Murquite has been cut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Nash closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Nash has Murquite pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Murquite manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Murquite is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Nash drops down looking for an ankle pick but Murquite pulls his leg out and moves away.

Nash gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Murquite wants a takedown.
Murquite is looking to take this one to the mat.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Abdoul Murquite. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Nash changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Murquite fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Murquite scores with a takedown into Nash's guard.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Murquite missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.

Nash escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Murquite gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Murquite lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Murquite slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Murquite is looking to work some ground and pound but Nash has wrist control.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Murquite content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.

Nash escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Murquite gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Murquite is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Nash is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Murquite passes easily into side control. Nice work.

Murquite is trying to get an arm triangle but Nash is defending well.

Nash tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Nash is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Nash tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Murquite wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Murquite in side control lands a decent elbow.
Check out the look on Murquite's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Nash can do anything to dispel that myth.
Murquite working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
Nash is pushing Murquite's head away, looking to escape. Murquite manages to hold on to the position though.
Nash looks gassed!
