The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jackson lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Wise fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Jackson manages to avoid it.
Jackson throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Jackson looks for the body kick but Wise saw that one coming.
A looping hook to the body misses from Jackson. Wise does a little dance to reset his feet.

Jackson bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Jackson swings around for an armbar but Wise sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Jackson's guard.

and Jackson makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

Jackson pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.

Wise sizes up Jackson with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Wise gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Wise lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Jackson!

Wise takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Wise lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Jackson throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Wise's waist but Wise gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Jackson off to one side.

Wise clinches up with Jackson and pushes him back against the cage.
Jackson wants to break free but Wise has control.
Wise lands a right hand that snaps the head of Jackson backwards.

Jeez, Rashad Jackson's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.

Wise is pressed up against the cage. Jackson has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Wise down to the mat. Wise avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Wise connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
