Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Tyler Liddell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Helder Cruz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Liddell comes to the cage accompanied by Bring Me Down (Swollen Mix Feat. Saigon) . Cruz has chosen Vai Rivaldo sai desse lago as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Helder Cruz looks lathargic as he enters the arena. Wake up son, you're about to have a fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Tyler Liddell!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Helder Cruz!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Ian Loll and Alec Ball.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fighters circling - Liddell throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Tyler Liddell seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Liddell throws a big shot that misses.
Liddell paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
A telegraphed right hand from Liddell misses the target.

Liddell closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Cruz to the mat! Cruz manages to get full guard.
Cruz looks gassed!
Cruz looking to hit a scissor sweep but Liddell is one step ahead there.
Liddell will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Liddell decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Liddell feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Liddell has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Cruz striking off his back but it's not causing Liddell any problems.
Liddell loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Liddell decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Liddell scores with a three punch combo!

Liddell shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Liddell was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

That's one minute gone in the round.
Cruz is trying to escape the mount.
Cruz should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Liddell lands a big elbow.
Liddell working away from the top, dropping strikes.
Liddell lands with some strikes.
Liddell breaks from Cruz's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Liddell is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Cruz can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
BOOM! Liddell connects with a massive shot to the dome!

Cruz is rocked!
Cruz is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Cruz is still in real trouble! Can Liddell finish him?
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Liddell with shots to the head and body - Cruz looks very uncomfortable down there.
Liddell loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have Cruz scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Liddell land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Liddell stands and salutes the crowd.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Tyler Liddell!
Tyler Liddell decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
