Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Frank Flynn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jo Jo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Flynn comes to the cage accompanied by Kanye West- Amazing . Jo has chosen Set You Free as his entrance music. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Frank Flynn!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jo Jo!
The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Micheangelo Fripello and Roger Salmon.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Flynn instigates a clinch.

Flynn pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Flynn closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Jo's guard.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Flynn trying to control the position from guard on top but Jo is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Jo is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Flynn loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Frank Flynn has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.

Flynn gets to his feet. Jo looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

and Jo counters with a shoot takedown. Flynn fights it but they end up in guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Jo postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Flynn is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Jo, into his guard.
Jo is looking to stand up but Flynn isn't so interested in that idea.
Flynn throws a big right hand that misses.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Jo wants to get back to his feet but Flynn is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Frank Flynn just wasn't active enough.
Nice takedown defense from Jo. No joy for Flynn on that attempt.

Flynn closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Jo did well to prevent Flynn getting side control.

Jo moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Flynn misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Flynn darts in and clinches Jo up against the cage.
Jo swings wildly with an uppercut but Flynn uses good head movement to avoid it.

Flynn has Jo pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Jo manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Flynn blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Both fighters working to control the clinch.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Jo.
Flynn is looking to take this one to the mat.

Jo throws a punch but it's blocked by Flynn.

Flynn's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Horrible takedown by Flynn or perhaps it was just good defense by Jo which made him look bad.

and Flynn counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Flynn shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Jo as he jumps to the side.

Flynn feints and as Jo raises his hands in defense, Flynn changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Jo pushes Flynn off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.

Flynn tries for a kimura but Jo is defending well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Flynn tries to move to mount but Jo blocks the move with his legs.

Flynn working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Flynn is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Jo is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Flynn tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Flynn has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Flynn goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Jo has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Flynn but great work by Jo.
Jo wants to stand but Flynn has his arm trapped.

Frank Flynn overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Jo misses with the ground and pound.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

Flynn shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Jo defends it nicely.
Jo tries to score a power double leg takedown but Flynn sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Jo somewhat.

Jo shoots in looking for a takedown but Flynn manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Jo's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
