Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Dog Dog (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Leo Bennet (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bennet comes into a darkened arena with his song building. UB40 - Swing Low, Sweet Chariot kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Dog Dog!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Leo Bennet!
The judges for this bout are Micheangelo Fripello, Chris Saunders and Ryoma Takatsuka.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dog misses with a takedown attempt

and Bennet counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Dog avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Dog will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Bennet stands up from Dog's guard - Bennet perhaps looking for a knockout.
Dog fails with an attempt to clinch.
Bennet throws a series of punches but Dog avoids them all with ease.

Bennet closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Dog really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Bennet can do anything to dispel that myth.

Bennet is looking for a triangle but Dog pushes his legs off easily.

Dog drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Bennet manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Dog has Bennet in his guard.

Dog has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Bennet is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Dog.
You can see the frustration on Dog's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Dog is trying desperately to improve position.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Bennet lands a heavy elbow.
Dog tries to get back to half guard but can't.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.



Bennet closes the distance and pushes Dog back into the cage.

Bennet tries to land a knee to the head but Dog blocks with his arms.

Bennet gets control of Dog's arms and successfully pulls guard. Bennet will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Dog postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Bennet is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Dog, into his guard.
Bennet won't allow Dog to sweep him here.
Bennet seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Dog has a closed guard, preventing Bennet from standing up.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Dog is defended easily by Bennet.

Dog shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Bennet's guard.

Dog looking to hit a scissor sweep but Bennet is one step ahead there.

Dog is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Bennet is aware though and is defending well.

Bennet looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Dog with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Bennet stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Dog to get to his feet.

Leo Bennet showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Bennet closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Dog to the mat! Dog manages to get full guard.

Dog is working an open guard so Bennet takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Dog tries to clinch there but Bennet circles away.

Bennet closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Bennet is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Bennet is stalling here. Dog is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Bennet seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Dog has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

Dog throws an elbow but Bennet slips to the side and avoids it well.
Dog Dog has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Leo Bennet is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Bennet tries to buck Dog off but Dog is having none of it.

Leo Bennet comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
