Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Dominick Cruz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bruce Weed (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bruce Weed has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Patrick Alders and Saam Ante.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Weed fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Cruz sprawls well initially but Weed persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Weed controlling the action here.
Weed is looking for a kimura but Cruz is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Weed to get the leverage.
Cruz is looking for a sweep. Weed is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Weed thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Cruz's head.
Weed perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Cruz manages to get to full guard.

Weed trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Cruz has a closed guard, preventing Weed from standing up.
OK we're going to have a standup here. Bruce Weed hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Cruz will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Weed scores a takedown into full mount!

Cruz is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Weed prevents Cruz from getting the reversal.
Weed trying to control but Cruz is having none of it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Cruz tries to reverse the position but Weed maintains control.

Weed controlling the pace for now.
Cruz is working to get back to half guard.
Weed looking to control and managing it successfully.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Bruce Weed hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Cruz circles away from the clinch attempt.
Weed bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Weed stands up.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Weed shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Cruz manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Weed gets the takedown into side control.
Weed swings around for an armbar but Cruz sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Weed's guard.
Cruz stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Weed swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Cruz is fighting to break Weed's control of his arms but Weed is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Cruz trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Weed can't keep his opponent in guard - Cruz advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Cruz is pressing down on Weed's thigh, looking to free his foot. Weed is holding on for now.
Weed is looking to get back to full guard here but Cruz has managed to pass to side control instead.
Cruz is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Weed has escaped the position, nice work there.

Weed is looking to reverse the position.
Weed is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Cruz asserts his dominance and retains side control.

Weed tries to buck Cruz off but Cruz is having none of it.
Weed is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Weed really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Cruz. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Weed tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck.
Cruz is working for a guillotine from mount but Weed frees his head quite easily.

Cruz jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Weed is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Weed and Cruz has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
Cruz works to advance to full mount. Weed defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Dominick Cruz will probably get the nod.

A punch lands to the side of Cruz 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Weed manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Cruz on his heels. He'll look to pass Cruz's guard now, I'm sure.
Cruz avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Cruz is looking to sinch up a triangle. Weed throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Cruz's body to avoid the submission. Cruz has instead reached around Weed's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Cruz arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:42 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Dominick Cruz!
An out of breath Dominick Cruz thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
