Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rich Dael (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kobe Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Johnson has chosen Wayne- Right above it as his entrance music. Rich Dael has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johnson shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Dael as he avoids it easily.
Johnson needs to keep his hands up - Dael had a free shot at his head there.

It looks like Kobe Johnson has been cut.
Dael throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Johnson tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Dael manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Johnson moves to clinch but Dael breaks away

and Dael holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Johnson tries to pull guard but Dael won't allow it.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
Dael tries to break free but Johnson pushes him back against the cage.

Rich Dael has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kobe Johnson.
Dael has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Johnson avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Johnson thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Johnson wants to pass the guard but Dael is keeping the position.
Dael knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Johnson on the ground.

Dael moves into range and clinches up with Johnson.
Dael is looking to take this one to the mat.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Johnson.

Dael drags the fight down to the ground.
Dael is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Johnson postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Dael is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Johnson, into his guard.
Johnson manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Johnson is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Dael has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Dael really trying hard to get back to half guard here.

Johnson has control of Dael's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Dael regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Dael is trying to get back to his feet but can't.

Dael avoids a series of strikes thrown by Johnson.

Johnson is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Dael has escaped the position, nice work there.

Johnson goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Dael has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Johnson but great work by Dael.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Johnson is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

and Dael counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Dael lands a slapping body shot.
Rich Dael is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Johnson will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Johnson takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.

Dael instigates a clinch.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

With the fighters up against the cage, Dael throws an elbow but misses.

Dael's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Nice takedown defense from Dael. No joy for Johnson on that attempt.
