PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Daniel Menzel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jack Harper (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Daniel Menzel!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jack Harper!
The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Nard Betker and Patrick Alders.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Harper lands the left hand.
Harper stuns Menzel with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Menzel throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Menzel closes the distance looking to clinch
enabling Harper to counter with a crisp jab.
Harper lands a really nice looking cross but Menzel seems unphased.

It looks like Daniel Menzel has been cut.
Menzel closes the distance and clinches up with Harper, looking for a takedown. Menzel pushes Harper against the cage but Harper circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Menzel tries to close the distance and clinch but Harper swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Menzel decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Harper can do anything to dispel that myth.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Menzel trying to control from half guard but Harper is working away.
Menzel wants to get back to his feet.
Harper is concentrating on defense, preventing Menzel from advancing position.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Harper is looking to improve his position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Menzel misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Harper swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Menzel.
Nice jab there from Harper.
Harper fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Menzel manages to avoid it.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Harper misses with a straight left.
Menzel gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Harper.
Menzel ducks right into an uppercut from Harper.

Menzel is rocked!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Harper plants his feet and throws a brutal three punch combo that sends Menzel swiftly into unconsciousness! Right, left, right! Boom, boom, boom! Menzel face plants, battered and bloodied! He might never be the same again after that finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:21 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Jack Harper!
A very excited looking Jack Harper rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
