Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Dan Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tony Jaa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Smith kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Sabaton- Metal machine. Tony Jaa is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Dan Smith!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Tony Jaa!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Steven Brown and James Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jaa tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Smith was well out of range. Poor timing from Jaa.

Smith shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Smith showed some decent athleticism there.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Jaa wants to get back to his feet.
Smith is pressing down on Jaa's thigh, looking to free his foot. Jaa is holding on for now.

Jaa kicks Smith off and gets back to his feet.
Smith shoots in for a double leg but Jaa sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Sloppy strikes from Jaa. Those never looked like landing.
Jaa throws a right and a left that Smith avoids nicely.
Jaa misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Some wild striking there from Jaa.
Smith misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
No joy there for Smith, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

A slapping leg kick lands for Jaa.
Jaa cracks Smith with an open hand slap.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Smith.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Smith accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Jaa wants to get back to his feet but Smith is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Smith passes easily into side control. Nice work.

Smith laying and praying for a moment but Jaa takes advantage and regains half guard.

Smith takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Smith throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Smith wants to free his trapped foot but Jaa is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Jaa has one foot on Smith's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.
Smith takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Jaa connects with a solid leg kick.
Smith slips a jab and a cross from Jaa.
Jaa slaps away a takedown attempt from Smith, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Jaa throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Smith takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Jaa looks to score with a jab to the body but Smith is just out of range.
Jaa connects with a high kick.
Jaa misses with a looping left.
Jaa defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Smith.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Jaa looks to land a right hand but Smith moved out of range.
Nice takedown defense from Jaa. No joy for Smith on that attempt.
Tony Jaa is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Smith decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Smith is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Jaa doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Smith.

A close round but Tony Jaa will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Smith tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Jaa swivels and escapes.
Jaa lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Smith changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Jaa looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Jaa is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Smith is controlling him well.
Smith misses with the ground and pound.
Smith tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.

Jaa throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done!
Jaa throws a series of punches but Smith avoids them all with ease.
Jaa lands with a kick to the ribs.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Smith looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Jaa is fending him off so far but Smith persists. Nope, Jaa circles away and we're back to standing.

Smith is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Jaa.

Smith shoots in looking for a takedown but Jaa manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Smith's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Tony Jaa showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Smith's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!
