Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Kolo Bryant!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Hack Poll!
The judges for this bout are Jeff Smith, Chris Saunders and Josh West.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Bryant fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Poll to the ground. Bryant is now in Poll's guard.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

Bryant seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Poll for as long as he can get away with.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Kolo Bryant wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Bryant scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Poll doesn't seem bothered though.

Nice straight punches there by Bryant. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Bryant.

Bryant rushes Poll and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Bryant is defending well against a takedown attempt.
Bryant stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.
Poll changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Bryant fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Poll tries for a takedown but Bryant manages to get underhooks.
Kolo Bryant has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Hack Poll.

Bryant wants the takedown. Poll is fighting it off but Bryant persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Poll's guard against the cage.
Bryant not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Bryant has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Bryant tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Kolo Bryant wasn't doing enough on the ground.

Bryant moves into the clinch.

A short right from Bryant.
Poll jumps guard but Bryant stands there with Poll around his waist. Poll gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Poll is looking for a takedown.
Poll looks gassed!

Bryant gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Bryant is nestled in close to Poll, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Bryant is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.

Poll shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Bryant counters into the clinch. Nicely done.

Bryant is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Bryant working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Bryant has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Bryant's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Poll is breathing heavily.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Bryant cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Bryant breaks from Poll's wrist control and lands an elbow.

Bryant takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
BOOM! Bryant connects with a massive shot to the dome!

Bryant has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Kolo Bryant wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Bryant lands a jab-cross combination.

Poll takes a shot to the body in his stride.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Bryant lands a nice shot that snaps Poll's head back.

Bryant shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Poll's guard.

Bryant is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Bryant passes Poll's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

Bryant moves into range and clinches up with Poll.

Poll is fighting off a takedown attempt but Bryant is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Poll to the mat. Poll regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
Bryant's corner is telling him to maintain position.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

Kolo Bryant has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.

Bryant fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Poll to the ground. Bryant is now in Poll's guard.
Bryant is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Well Bryant has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
