The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Apene forces Bowie back against the cage and clinches.
Bowie with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head.

It looks like Pence Apene has been cut.
Bowie tries a knee to the head but Apene blocks it.
Apene is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Apene drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
A nice left hand lands by Bowie.
Bowie throws a head punch that misses.

Apene jumps into guard, dragging Bowie to the mat.
Bowie postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Apene looking for a guillotine here but Bowie defends easily.
Apene can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Bowie controls the pace.

Apene has hold of Bowie's hands but Bowie slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Bowie with the ground and pound but Apene uses the opportunity to regain guard.

Apene looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Apene thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
Apene looking for a sweep. Not yet Apene, not yet.
Apene pulls Bowie in close to prevent any damage.
Apene wants to sweep here but Bowie controlling him for the moment.

Bowie stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Apene swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Apene has momentary wrist control but Bowie slips an elbow through the middle.

Apene escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Bowie gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Apene controls Bowie momentarily but Bowie frees himself.

Apene is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Bowie is aware though and is defending well.

Apene tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Bowie postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Apene is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Bowie, into his guard.

Bowie has his foot on Apene's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Apene works his way back into a safe position though.

Bowie looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Apene is defending well. Bowie quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Apene has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Bowie celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
