Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Kevin Nelson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jason Bruise (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the fighters buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Kevin Nelson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jason Bruise!
The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, John Mangel and Donatello Bradman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Nelson shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Bruise sprawls well. Bruise wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Nelson gets slowly back to his feet.

Bruise throws a right hand that Nelson ducks under and follows up with a left that Nelson also avoids with ease.
Bruise shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Nelson but Nelson pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Bruise shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Nelson as he avoids it easily.
Nelson throws a leg kick which misses Bruise's front leg but catches the back leg as Bruise tries to avoid it.
Nelson tries to close the distance and clinch but Bruise swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Bruise throws a jab when Nelson was well out of range.
Nelson shoots for a takedown but Bruise saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Nelson throws a head kick but Bruise moves out of range.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Nelson tries to pull guard but Bruise forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Bruise wants to get up but he can't break Nelson's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Jason Bruise was stalling too much, according to the referee.

Nelson moves into range and clinches up with Bruise.

No joy there for Bruise, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Bruise shoots in looking for a takedown. Nelson tries to sprawl out of it but Bruise keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Nelson manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Bruise is breathing heavily.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Bruise manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Bruise is working for a guillotine from mount but Nelson frees his head quite easily.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Nelson tries to reverse the position but Bruise maintains control.

Bruise misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Bruise sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!

Bruise is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Nelson is surviving well by controlling Bruise's body position as best he can.

Bruise takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Nelson is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Jason Bruise comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Bruise has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
