The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vera tries to clinch up but De Payens circles away and keeps his distance.
Vera shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has De Payens pinned against the cage. De Payens gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
De Payens throws a leg kick that is checked

and Vera moves into the clinch.
Vera tries to pull guard but De Payens holds him up against the cage and eventually Vera drops back down to his feet.

Vera has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
De Payens makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
De Payens throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Veras head.
