Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mirko Fillipovitch (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jermaine Robinson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Mirko Fillipovitch!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jermaine Robinson!
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Alec Ball and Dillan Fox.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Robinson takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Fillipovitch tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Robinson is able to avoid easily.
Fillipovitch misses with a low kick.
Robinson tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Fillipovitch manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Robinson will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Robinson scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Robinson creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Fillipovitch sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Fillipovitch prevents Robinson from moving into mount.

Robinson is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Fillipovitch has escaped the position, nice work there.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Robinson passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Fillipovitch!
Robinson throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
Robinson fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Robinson sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
Fillipovitch knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Robinson on the ground.
Fillipovitch tries to hold on but Robinson postures up.

Fillipovitch sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
Robinson has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Fillipovitch has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Robinson is working away from the top position though.

Robinson is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Robinson lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Robinson lands a nice short elbow.

Robinson wants to control but Fillipovitch is keeping him busy.
Fillipovitch wants to improve his position but Robinson is controlling well.

Robinson is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Fillipovitch defends it well.

Robinson thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Robinson is looking to take a break and control but Fillipovitch is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Fillipovitch is trying to control but can't.
Fillipovitch tries to get to full guard but Robinson has control of the leg.

Robinson looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Robinson throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Robinson lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Robinson wants to control but Fillipovitch is keeping him busy.

Robinson is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Fillipovitch sees it coming and defends easily.

Robinson is pressing down on Fillipovitch's thigh, looking to free his foot. Fillipovitch is holding on for now.
Fillipovitch has his hands clasped together around Robinson's back. He's all about the action.
Robinson passes to side control.
Robinson is chipping away with strikes.
Robinson working away.

Robinson is trying to get an arm triangle but Fillipovitch is defending well.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Fillipovitch taking punishment in the form of punches.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jermaine Robinson dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


A low kick from Fillipovitch misses
and Robinson counters with a series of strikes. Fillipovitch will be more careful next time no doubt.
Jermaine Robinson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Fillipovitch scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Fillipovitch walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Robinson tries to close the distance and clinch but Fillipovitch swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
A looping hook to the body misses from Fillipovitch. Robinson does a little dance to reset his feet.
Robinson looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Fillipovitch scoring well with a low kick there.
Robinson lands a really nice looking cross but Fillipovitch seems unphased.
Fillipovitch throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Fillipovitch buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Fillipovitch fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Robinson has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Robinson goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
Robinson fails with the takedown.

Fillipovitch forces Robinson back against the cage and clinches.

Fillipovitch is working Robinson over against the cage.
Fillipovitch is defending well against a takedown attempt.
Mirko Fillipovitch has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jermaine Robinson.
Robinson is breathing heavily.
Robinson jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Fillipovitch walks away with a smile on his face. Robinson gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Fillipovitch moves into the clinch.
Fillipovitch swings wildly with an uppercut but Robinson uses good head movement to avoid it.
Fillipovitch lands with a short shot to the head.
Fillipovitch tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Robinson's elbow.
Robinson is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Fillipovitch is defending well.
Robinson tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Fillipovitch misses with a hook from the clinch.
Fillipovitch lands on the inside with an uppercut.
A shot in the inside from Fillipovitch.
Fillipovitch stops a takedown attempt from Robinson.
Fillipovitch lands with a left to the head.
Robinson tries for a takedown but Fillipovitch manages to get underhooks.
Robinson prevents a body shot from Fillipovitch.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Fillipovitch breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Fillipovitch lands a big uppercut and Robinson crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Robinson looks OK. Fillipovitch waves Robinson back to his feet!


Robinson is rocked!
Mirko Fillipovitch is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Fillipovitch is throwing a storm of strikes! Right hook, left hook and follows it up with a spinning back fist! Robinson hits the canvas like a rag doll! And just like that, this one is over!
