The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Marella throws a wild body kick that Suck sees coming a mile off.

Marella shoots in and bounces Suck off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Marella controlling from the top position.
Suck really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Marella. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Marella trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Suck looking to hit a scissor sweep but Marella is one step ahead there.

Suck tries to keep at a distance but Marella has taken the fight into the clinch.

Suck jumps guard but Marella stands there with Suck around his waist. Suck gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Suck gets tackled into the cage by Marella. Marella maintains the clinch.

Marella turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Suck tries to escape but Marella is in control.
Marella lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
Suck is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

Suck is bucking up trying to escape but Marella cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Suck tries to hold on but Marella pushes him away.
Suck is desperately trying to improve his position but Marella has a good base and remains in mount.

Marella has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Suck is trying to keep an underhook but Marella manages to get the takedown into half guard.

Suck looking to force a kimura from the bottom here. He's concentrating on that move too much though and Marella pushes past his half guard into mount!

Marella goes for an armbar but Suck turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Suck.

Marella pulls Suck in close to his closed guard and prevents Suck from doing any damage or advancing position.

Marella has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Suck off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
Suck lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Marella circles away quickly and effectively.

Marella shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Marella was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Marella's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
