And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Dillan Fox and Yves DeLean.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Carwin leaves Ivic with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Ivic stuffs the takedown.
Carwin ducks right into an uppercut from Ivic.

Shane Carwin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Carwin looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The fighters are battling for position here. Ivic manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Ivic is on top in guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Carwin can do anything to dispel that myth.

Carwin really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Ivic. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Ivic has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Ivic seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Ivic is taking a breather. Carwin says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Ivic has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Carwin's face.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Ivic cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Carwin is rocked!
Ivic pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Carwin is still in real trouble! Can Ivic finish him?
Ivic drops a big elbow. That's hurt Carwin! More shots from Ivic and the ref steps in! The fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:24 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Marko Ivic!
Marko Ivic spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
