Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jack Balance (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mark Forolov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jack Balance!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Mark Forolov!
The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Tarja Halkonen and Marco Blurström.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Forolov with a lazy takedown attempt

and Balance counters with a shoot takedown. Forolov fights it but they end up in guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Balance loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Forolov is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Balance defends well.
Balance working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Forolov's head.
Balance makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Balance trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Forolov keeping moving, preventing Balance from controlling successfully.
Balance throws a big elbow that misses.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Balance lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Balance lands a couple of elbows.
Balance trying to control but Forolov is working from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Forolov wants to sweep here but Balance controlling him for the moment.
Balance trying to move into half guard but instead Forolov has managed to sweep!

Forolov has gone for a leg lock! Balance slips out almost immediately though and dives into Forolov's guard.

Balance tries to pass to full mount but Forolov defends it.

Forolov is staying active underneath Balance, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Balance seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Forolov wants to control but Balance is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Balance working over Forolov with some ground and pound. Forolov looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
Forolov is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Balance thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Forolov's head.
Balance not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.

Forolov regains full guard. Nicely done.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Balance trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

Balance avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Balance wants to control from the top but Forolov keeps moving.

Balance got a little sloppy there for a moment and Forolov has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Balance has managed to get both his arms back between Forolov's legs - danger averted.
Balance throws a strike but Forolov rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Balance preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Balance tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Forolov stands and throws Balance's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Forolov is staying tight to Balance's torso, preventing him from escaping.

Forolov is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Balance knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Balance wants to control but Forolov postures up.
Forolov is looking to take a break and control but Balance is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Forolov goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Balance rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Forolov's guard! Nice work there by Balance!

Balance trying to control but Forolov is working from the bottom.
Balance is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Balance scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Balance trying to control the position from guard on top but Forolov is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Balance avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Balance wants to control from the top but Forolov keeps moving.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Forolov lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Balance!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jack Balance dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Forolov tries to clinch up but Balance circles away and keeps his distance.

Balance closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Forolov to the mat! Forolov manages to get full guard.

Balance has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Balance loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Forolov had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Balance defends it easily.
Balance trying to control the position from guard on top but Forolov is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Jack Balance overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Balance wants to control from the top but Forolov keeps moving.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Balance's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

Forolov looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Balance wants to pass the guard but Forolov is keeping the position.

Balance is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Forolov has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Balance is looking to defend but Forolov has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Balance! Forolov pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Balance taps out and this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:27 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Mark Forolov!
