Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 1 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Edmundo Jr!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Edmundo Teixeira!
The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Emerson Jorge and Daniel Cesar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Excellent takedown into side control there by Jr.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Jr wants to lay and pray for a moment but Teixeira keeps working.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Teixeira is looking to reverse the position.
Jr trying to control the action but Teixeira is working from the bottom.
You can see the frustration on Teixeira's face as Jr controls the position.
Jr working the head with strikes.
Jr is looking to take a break and control but Teixeira is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Jr lands a nice forearm strike.
Jr in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.
Teixeira is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Jr wants to lay and pray for a moment but Teixeira keeps working.
Teixeira tries to bench press Jr off him but Jr keeps the position.

Teixeira is pushing Jr's head away, looking to escape. Jr manages to hold on to the position though.
Jr looks up at the clock and then as Teixeira takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Jr smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Jr looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Teixeira is avoiding damage well.
Jr throws a strike aimed at the side of Teixeira's head but Teixeira avoids it well.

Jr landing a few strikes.
Jr working the ground and pound.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Teixeira being controlled for a moment.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Jr misses with the ground and pound.

Jr wants to control but Teixeira is keeping him busy.
Jr throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Teixeira works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure.
Jr trying to control the action but Teixeira is working from the bottom.
Jr is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Teixeira is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Teixeira wants to sweep but Jr has passed to side control!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Teixeira takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Teixeira manages to work his way to half guard, despite Jr's best efforts.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Edmundo Jr dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!



Jr scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Teixeira is trying to stand up here but Jr is controlling him well.
Jr working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Teixeira trying to control but Jr postures up.
Teixeira wants to get back to full guard.
Jr working Teixeira over with strikes.

Jr wants to lay and pray for a moment but Teixeira keeps working.
Jr not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Edmundo Jr overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Teixeira is trying to maintain the position but Jr is very close to passing his half guard.
Jr sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Teixeira defending well though.
Teixeira is looking to improve his position.
Jr passes to full mount!
The referee warns Teixeira that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

Jr postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Teixeira looks a forlorn figure.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Teixeira is in all sorts of trouble here.

Teixeira is still in real trouble! Can Jr finish him?
Jr scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Teixeira?
Teixeira is trying to stand.
Jr cracks Teixeira with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Jr looking to control but Teixeira is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Teixeira takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.

Teixeira is looking to get to half guard.
Teixeira seems to have recovered his senses.
Jr controlling from the full mount.
Jr lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Jr lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Teixeira tries to reverse the position but Jr maintains control.
Jr wants to control the pace but Teixeira is squirming around nicely.
Jr looking to finish Teixeira with some ground and pound. This is bad for Teixeira!

Jr tries to control but Teixeira wriggling away.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
The referee warns Teixeira that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Jr in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Teixeira is trying to escape the mount.
Teixeira is bucking up trying to escape but Jr cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Edmundo Jr dominated that second round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!



Jr closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Teixeira on the wrong end of some ground and pound.

Teixeira looking for a sweep but Jr has passed into full mount! Oh no!
Jr cracks Teixeira with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Teixeira is desperately trying to improve his position but Jr has a good base and remains in mount.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Jr unloading with bombs!
Jr is landing with some decent strikes but Teixeira is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Teixeira is in all sorts of trouble here.
Jr is in the full mount, landing strikes.
Jr has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Teixeira's face.
Edmundo Jr is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Jr lands a big elbow - Teixeira is in trouble! More strikes from the mount and Teixeira is forced to tap out!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:22 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Strikes). Edmundo Jr!
Edmundo Jr was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
